The private proposal on a yacht is our most intimate marriage proposal package in Istanbul — designed for couples who want the setting of the Bosphorus without anyone else present in any visible way. The boat is prepared, the deck is set, and when you board, it is just you and your partner, the water, and the city.

This is the right package if your partner values privacy, if you want the moment to feel personal rather than produced, or if you simply prefer to propose without a coordinator nearby managing the timing.

What Private Means

In our private proposal package, the boat is set up and ready before you board. The flowers, candles, champagne, and any personalised elements are already in place. The captain operates the vessel from the wheelhouse and does not come onto the deck during the cruise unless needed for safety. There is no coordinator on board during the proposal itself.

Photography is handled differently in this package. Rather than a photographer on a nearby boat, we use a combination of pre-positioned cameras and, if you want documentation of the proposal moment itself, a very discreet photographer on a vessel at considerable distance with a long lens. Some clients in this package choose not to have any documentation of the proposal itself and instead book a portrait session in Istanbul on the following day.

The Setup

We coordinate the deck setup with the same level of care as our other packages. Fresh flowers in your chosen colour, candles secured safely for the water, champagne or your partner’s preferred drink on ice, and any personal additions you have requested. Because we are not present on the boat during the proposal, we confirm all details with you in advance and send you photographs of the setup on the day so you know what to expect when you arrive at the marina.

The Cruise

The private proposal cruise follows the Bosphorus route as standard — departing from a European-side marina, heading north toward the Bosphorus Bridge, past the Ortakoy Mosque and the palaces of the shoreline. The captain adjusts pace to give you the best views at the right times. For sunset departures, we time the route so you are in the most open, scenic part of the Bosphorus as the light changes.

The cruise duration is typically two to three hours. You can extend this if you want more time on the water after the proposal. Extensions are priced per additional hour and arranged at the time of booking.

After the Proposal

Many couples who choose the private proposal package want to continue celebrating in Istanbul after the cruise. We can recommend and assist with reservations at Istanbul restaurants, suggest hotel upgrades or champagne arrangements for your return, or help with any other plans for the rest of the evening.
